General Manager

Job Description

We are proud to be representing one of the Northwest’s best known and largest franchise motor dealers and are assisting them in their search for a General Manager.

Reporting to the Site Directors, an individual with exceptional leadership skills and strong commercial acumen is required to oversee the running of one of their busy dealerships, which will incorporate the sales and aftersales departments of this business.
The Role:
Overall responsibility for the effective, efficient running of all aspects of the franchises operations (sales and aftersales departments), within budget constraints
Take responsibility for developing and attaining a culture of achievement and accountability within the site, and ensure exceptionally high standards of customer satisfaction are achieved.
Ensure the Manufacturer’s and Company’s standards and processes are complied with.
Communicate effectively with relevant customers and agencies to include internal and external customers, manufacturer representatives, external auditors, etc.
Drive a process of continuous improvement throughout the extensive operations of the dealership.

The Person:
Managerial experience within the motor industry is essential, within a franchised dealership.
Have a strong operational knowledge, preferably gained within the motor trade.
Possess the ability to develop, plan and implement the strategy and policies for all dealership activities;
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to maintain and develop relationships with key customers;
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to build strong plans, processes and controls and ensure delivery through your team;
Have the ability to assimilate and analyse information and to think strategically, formulate decisions and make recommendations;
Possess excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to motivate, drive and inspire others, including the sales and aftersales team
Proficient IT skills to include knowledge of MS Office. Experience of Kerridge would be desirable, however full training will be provided.

Other Information:
All candidates must be flexible and prepared to work additional hours when required to meet customer demand.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8.45am to 6pm, plus 2 late evenings a week and Saturdays.
This is an exciting opportunity and will include an attractive performance based remuneration package.
