Job Description

We are currently assisting one of Donegal’s leading retailers in their search for ’ Doorstep Sales Agents’ to help them develop direct sales for a specific product in their portfolio across the county of Donegal.
Suitable individuals will have direct sales experience in retail, field or maybe even Telesales. Ideally you will have significant experience in a similar role successfully achieving targets. You must have your own vehicle and be prepared to work hours that may include evenings and weekends.

Although most roles of this nature are normally commission only, this particular business is willing to offer a basic wage which will/can then be ‘topped up’ with commission based on hitting targets. Expected earnings are likely to be mid €20’s + for those hitting set targets and €30k+for those over achieving.

We are specifically seeking CV’s of individuals who can say yes to the following.
Are you happy to work shifts as and when required? Normal working hours may include regular early evening and weekend work.
Are you prepared to work on a contract basis – i.e.1-3 months at a time?
Do you process strong communication skills?
Do you have the ability to learn product features and relay same to a client confidently?
Would you be prepared to travel with a small team to large towns across the Donegal/North West area to work as and when required?

Individuals who have worked in a similar type sales role are particularly sought after.

The main remit of this position is to act as the primary point of contact for customers assigned to a specific geographical territory to provide technical support, and a comprehensive level of customer service, to ensure that sales are increased with new and existing accounts.
Job Purpose:
To act as the primary point of contact for customers assigned to the territory providing technical support and customer service with the ultimate goal of increasing sales at new and existing accounts.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Account Maintenance
• Troubleshoot/resolve customer complaints and issues
• Follow-up on late orders
• Develop/review price quotas
• Monitor open order status
• Conduct account follow-up calls
• Develop and submit daily sales reports
• Coordinate on-site sales calls with Outside sales reps
• Conduct sales ‘cold calls’ on prospective new customers
• Develop and distribute customer feedback reports
• Determine appropriate shipping methods
• Adjust shipping dates and production priorities (with prior supervisory approval)
• Reduce/change pricing on non-standard or new products (with prior approval)
• Issue return authorisations (with prior approval)
• Issue non-standard restocking fees (with prior approval)
• Complete any other duties as assigned
New Account/product generation
• Provide background market research on new markets and materials
• Lead follow-up
• Conduct cold calls
• Generate new business at existing accounts
• Seek out new avenues for company products
• Attempt to expand company market share
• Complete any other duties assigned
• Contract negotiation and review of sales agreements with business customers
• Occasional travel to obtain an understanding of customer and industry requirements
• Develop and maintain contacts in the customer and manufacturing communities
• Managing relationships with key accounts and working to ensure customer satisfaction at all levels
• Handle incoming calls, including order status, problem solving, etc., as needed
• Internal problem solving i.e. order scheduling, expediting, etc.
• Organize and work to resolve all Quality, Shipping and Production issues for Production meetings
• Attend weekly sales training sessions during normal operating hours

Essential Criteria:
• Candidates must possess strong technical acumen with a degree or 3rd level qualification in Engineering, Materials Science or Chemistry, or in a related discipline.
• Applicants must possess established communication skills and will possess relevant customer service, account management and/or sales experience.
• Applicants must possess strong interpersonal and organisational skills
• Strong I.T. skills essential
Desirable Criteria:
• Applicants with a fluent 2nd language in German are highly sought after
• Experience in using Oracle (database) highly sought after

Main responsibilities of the position:

  • Providing first class customer service from start to finish of the sales process you will exceed your customers expectations whilst maximising profitability from vehicle, finance, insurance and accessory sales.
  • Achieve sales targets whilst complying with company, manufacturer and legal requirements
  • Effectively managing your customer database
  • Managing incoming sales enquiries
  • Ensure highest degree of customer satisfaction to achieve customer loyalty
  • Ensure extensive and up-to-date knowledge regarding pricing, options, warranties, colours, standard equipment and specifications etc.

Experience Required:

  • A valid and clean driving license in also essential and you must be highly numerate and literate.
